IU16. International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)

Report to the 1999 IUPAP General Assembly

It has been decided to harmonize the principle standards on quantities, units, and letter symbols of IEC and ISO by issuing a new, single, joint standard early in the next century. The two standards are ISO 31 ( Parts 0 through 13) and IEC 27 ( Part 1 and 3);

This is the principle development in IEC of which I am aware that would be of interest to IUPAP, especially to its Commission 2 ( SUN-AMCO ).
